Aparna Kamat, MD, MS
Gynecologic Cancer Surgeon, Researcher and Educator
Dr. Aparna Kamat is the Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Houston Methodist Hospital. She is passionate about research and education.
During her fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, she received several awards including the Virginia K. Pierce award, the Bettyann Asche Murray fellowship, and the Dianne Denson Tobola fellowship for her research in ovarian cancer. She received the CREOG award for excellence in resident education, has been named Faculty of the Year and named as Top Gynecologic Oncologist in Greater Houston.
She serves on the board of Ovarcome – a non-profit organization that provides financial aid and support for women with ovarian cancer. She was named Ovarcome Hero of the Year for her efforts. She is an active member of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston and has been recognized among the influential Women in Business for 2022 and 2023.
She has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents and junior faculty and is proud to be a co-founder of Invoke Potential.
