Kaitlin Joest
Kaitlin Joest was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate degree where she double majored in Biology and Child Development and was President of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the pre-health honor society. After graduation, she moved to Houston, TX to teach middle school science at YES Prep Public Schools where she had the privilege to teach over 600 students and specialize in active learning. While teaching, Kaitlin had a passion for developing leadership skills in young women, both serving as a Girl Scouts of America Troop Leader and the YES Prep Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach. She then pursued her MD at McGovern Medical School while simultaneously earning her Masters of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. Continuing her love of caring for women, Kaitlin is currently pursuing OB/GYN Residency at Houston Methodist Hospital, where she is about to enter her chief year. While in residency, Kaitlin has spearheaded SROM (Student-Resident OBGYN Mentoring) which meets monthly to help prepare medical students for residency. Kaitlin would be more than happy to mentor young women interested in or applying to medical school or residency.
